Requirements
- Two copies of a survey showing where the deck is to be located
- A zoning permit application (requires a $25 check)
- A construction folder
- A building tech section
- If the property contains a well or septic, approval from the Board of Health
- Two copies of plans sealed by an Architect or drawing by the homeowner (signed and dated)
- If any electric work is to be done, an electric tech section
- If any plumbing work is to be done, a plumbing tech section

- Indicated pool location
- New decks
- New decks

- Two sealed plans or plans drawn by the homeowner for any patios, decks, retaining walls and/or sheds
- Specs for the pool equipment and pool heater as applicable
- Specs for the pool fence/enclosure
- Specs for gate self-closing and self-latching devices
- Construction permit folder
- Building Technical section
- Electric Technical section
- Plumbing Technical section and gas riser diagram as applicable
- Specs for an above-ground pool ladder enclosure in lieu of complete enclosure

Requirements
Note: Additional drawings may be required based on the installation of windows, doors, new stairs, guardrails, etc.
Floor Plan Drawing
- The entire floor plan of the basement should be shown.
- Indicate the location of all new walls to be constructed
- Label the use of each room or space
- Show and label the size of all doors
- Show and label the size of all windows
- If new windows or doors are being added, show size, framing details for opening and provide a separate section drawing showing sill heights from the interior floor as well as grade heights on the exterior.
- Identify the location of all mechanical equipment and provide proof of proper combustion air. (vents, louvers, etc.)
- If stairs are enclosed to create storage or closet space, indicate the area to be completely drywalled.
- If a bedroom is proposed, show egress window location and an interior/exterior section to show compliance with code requirements. Also indicate required smoke and carbon monoxide detector locations.
- If a bathroom, bar or kitchen is proposed, indicate all fixtures and provide required riser diagrams.
- Identify the location of all smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, new and existing. Indicate if existing will be relocated to new ceiling height.
- Provide an electrical layout showing all receptacles, switches, exhaust fans, and lighting locations. Identify the type of lighting and receptacles. Identify location and clearance for all panels.
Wall Section Drawing
- Provide the type of framing material and the spacing
- Identify the type and location of fire-stopping to be used
- Identify the type of bottom plate to be used
- Provide the insulation to be installed
- Provide the wall covering to be used
- Provide the type of ceiling to be installed
- Indicate the extent to which the walls will be spaced out from foundation walls
