Planning Board

Reviews, amends, and adopts master plan administers land subdivision and site plan ordinance; reviews applications for development; reviews general planning issues; reviews proposed Township Committee Zoning and Land Use Ordinance for consistency with Master Plan.

Zoning Board of AdjustmentThe Board reviews decisions of the Zoning Officer, on appeals of aggrieved parties and grants variances from the Zoning Ordinance as permitted by law. Environmental CommissionAdvises Planning Board on development issues, minutes, books, maps of open lands. Conducts programs on environmental issues. Meetings will be held at the meeting room at the Warren Township municipal building (MB), second floor conference room or the library meeting room (Lib) as noted below. Board of HealthResponsible for regulating activity relative to sewage disposal, potable water, enforces NJ Sanitary Law. Reviews development applications for wells and septics. Manages the Animal Control Program. Meetings are held in the Warren Municipal Building. Warren Library Advisory BoardThe Advisory Board serves as a liaison to the County Library Board and manages library assets on behalf of Township Committee. Meetings are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the Library. Refer to the Township calendar for meeting schedule.

Sewerage AuthorityFive members, serving a 5 year term, manages the Wastewater Treatment System for the Township, collects fees, and reviews all development to which public sewers will be provided. Refer to the Township Calendar for meeting schedule.

Open Space Site Acquisition CommitteeThis Committee is responsible for providing recommendations to the Township Committee relative to sites to be utilized for open space and for recommending a central policy and guidelines relative to open space acquisition. Seven members appointed for a two year term (except the initial appointment). Meetings to be held in the Warren Township Municipal Building Conference Room on the 2nd floor on selected Mondays at 7:30 p.m. Refer to the Township calendar for meeting schedule.

Warren Recreation CommissionSeven members, serving for a 5 year term, coordinate recreation activity by sporting leagues, use of Township property for recreation purposes. The committee also conducts cultural programs, Township basketball and summer recreation programs. All meetings are the first Wednesday of each month at 7 pm in the Warren Township Library at 42 Mountain Blvd. Warren, NJ 07059 unless otherwise stated. Senior Citizens Committee Meetings are held in the Warren Township Municipal Court, (side meeting room), 44 Mountain Blvd., Warren, New Jersey on selected Wednesdays at 10:00 am. Refer to the Township calendar for meeting schedule.

Historic Sites CommitteeThis Committee manages Township owned properties,researches Township history and sites, conducts programs about Township history and makes recommendations to the Township. There are eighteen members, of which three shall be members of the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church;serving for a 3 year term. Meetings to be held at Warren Township 46 Mountain Blvd., 2nd floor Conference Room 7:30 pm. Refer to the Township calendar for meeting schedule.

Traffic Advisory CommitteeAdvises Township Committee, Planning Board and Board of Adjustment as to traffic issues relative to pending development applications. Advises Township Committee as to intersection and road improvements and maintenance on County and/or Township roads and Makes recommendations on other traffic issues. Meetings to be held at Warren Township Municipal Bldg., 2nd or 3rd Floor Conference Room, 46 Mountain Blvd., Warren, NJ on Tuesdays at 7:00 pm unless indicated otherwise Refer to the Township calendar for meeting schedule.

Volunteer Fire Board of Chiefs All meetings are held at the Municipal Complex, 46 Mountain Blvd, Warren, NJ on the 3rd floor at 7:30 pm on the first Wednesday of every month. Refer to the Township calendar for meeting schedule.

Green Team The mission of Warren’s Green Team is to be a resource for the residents of Warren in communicating Sustainable practices and creating programs that enhance quality of life through conservation and environmental management.
